Третья пациентка почти 20 лет страдала хронической болью на почве существования миофасциальных триггерных точек, возникших в результате пренебрежительного отношения к своему здоровью. Однако когда у женщины развился острый болевой синдром в латеральной крыловидной мышце, обусловленный появлением в ней миофасциальных триггерных точек, последние были выявлены и эффективно устранены. В этой области нервная система, очевидно, была готова к нормальному потоку нервных импульсов из болезненных мышц именно как к острой боли [50] и соответственно положительно отвечала на лечение.

У двух женщин диагноз миофасциальных болевых триггерных точек в латеральной крыловидной мышце был поставлен при помощи интраоральной пальпации, а лечение стало эффективным только благодаря обкалыванию миофасциальных триггерных точек местноанестезирующим препаратом.
