"This is indeed the judgement of God," said the Grand Master, turning his eyes up to Heaven. "I declare this young woman to be innocent!"

As the Grand Master spoke, they heard a low, rumbling sound and the ground shook under them as a large army of men rode into the lists.

"I am too late (я /приехал/ слишком поздно = я опоздал; late — поздний, запоздалый)," said the Black Knight, looking around (оглядываясь вокруг). "Bois-Guilbert was going to be mine to take care of (я собирался сам позаботиться о Буа-Гильбере)!"

He saw Ivanhoe (он увидел Айвенго).

"Wilfred, was this a good idea (Уилфрид, была ли это хорошая мысль), to come here (приехать сюда) when you could hardly keep yourself in the saddle (когда ты едва можешь держаться в седле; hardly — едва, еле, насилу)? The Grand Master stood up in surprise. "Who dares to arrest a Templar in the presence of the Grand Master?"
