At the Castle of York, Prince John met with the allies who were going to help him take the throne of England from his brother. Their plans had been delayed because Front-de-Boeuf, De Bracy and Bois-Guilbert were missing.

Isaac of York, from whom they were going to borrow the money (Исаак из Йорка, у которого они собирались занять денег) they needed to raise an army (в которых они нуждались, чтобы собрать армию; to raise — поднимать; набирать /в армию/, формировать /часть/), seemed to have disappeared as well (казалось, тоже исчез). "Those cowardly traitors!" he exclaimed. "Those traitors, leaving me at a time like this. I should hang them from the draw-bridges of their own castles!"

Just then De Bracy arrived to see Prince John. His armour was still covered in blood and dust from the battle at Torquilstone. He took off his helmet and placed it on the table beside the Prince.

"De Bracy," exclaimed Prince John, "what has happened (что случилось; to happen — случаться, происходить)? Speak (говори)! Are the Saxons rebelling against us (саксы бунтуют против нас; to rebel — поднимать восстание, мятеж, восставать, бунтовать)? Where is the Templar (где рыцарь храма)?
