“To share it with you. I am of the alpha nature, in fact I gifted Adam, the original Alpha, with his knot so that he could make sure that his mate became pregnant. It has been a long time since I have shared a heat with anyone,” he said, his words ending on a rumbling growl.

“Because you need to be summoned?” I asked. I wasn’t familiar with the mythos behind Satan. Neither of my parents had been religious and it had never interested me much before. The world was hard enough to live in without trying to think about potentially going to the fiery pits of Hell after you die. Luc didn’t look like what everyone thought Satan would look like. For one he wasn’t red. He was green. He also looked like he had walked straight out of a GQ catalog for men’s business wear. I shouldn’t have been attracted to him, he was literally the Devil, but even as I waited for his answer I found my eyes tracing the sharp lines of his jaw and nose in an almost dazed fashion. I was barely clinging onto my rational mind as it was and my rational mind finally picked up on what had been missing during our entire conversation. “Why can’t I smell you?” I inhaled deeply and only picked up the smell of my own perfume.

“I’ve blocked my scent for the time being. We need to come to an agreement before I allow you to scent me, my angel. My scent is akin to catnip for omegas and I’d like you to be in the right mind while we have this discussion. Everything must be completely consensual or the magic of the ritual will create a whiplash effect, so I would like to hear your decision about the matter. You are clearly attracted to my form at the very least.” Luc looked pleased about that fact and embarrassment filled me.

“Are you reading my mind?” He was a being as old as time. It stood to reason that he would possess that kind of ability.

“On some level, yes, but I can’t make out specific coherent thoughts if that is what you are asking. My ability is that of an empath. I can feel your nerves, your fading fear of me, and, yes, your arousal.” He reached out, hesitating only for a moment to check that I wouldn’t flinch away from his fingers, and brushed the warm pads of his fingers along my cheeks and down the side of my neck. I could feel goosebumps rising in their wake as my whole body shuddered with barely controlled pleasure.

“Besides,” Luc continued as he explored my face and ran a finger along one of my blonde curls. “I saw the way you looked at my horns, Eden. Even when you were afraid of me I could see heat behind those blue eyes of yours. You are much more perverted than you would like others to think.”

My mind flashed to the night that I had watched Kyle and the blonde at the Kappa Sigma Psi party. I liked watching it. The sheer naughtiness of it had filled my head for weeks afterwards and with it came a shame that I had never known before. I was supposed to be the good girl according to all of my friends and acquaintances. Cleo was the wild child and I was the sturdy friend. It was a role that I had become comfortable in. If I was dependable enough, people couldn’t leave me behind.

I wanted to walk on the wild side. For once my brain and body were in agreement and when I finally met Luc’s warm green-eyed gaze again I knew my answer was already on my face.

“You need to vocalize it, Eden,” he urged me gently, his fingers trailing underneath my jaw and he gently tilted my chin upwards at an angle.

The words came to me, as if the ancient ritual magic was whispering them to me. “I, Eden Evans, accept your deal to share my heat with you, Lucifer Morningstar.” The words echoed in the room like a crack of lightning. Then, as if someone exhaled a breath that they had been holding, Luc’s scent filled my nose.

I didn’t know what I thought that Satan would smell like, I had never thought much about it, but nothing could have prepared me for inhaling the full body of his scent.

He smelled like a combination of rain soaked rock, the kind of scent you find in the deepest and oldest caves, and a fresh cedarwood campfire. On their own there was nothing remotely sexy about either of those scents...but in conjunction with the man in front of me? It was absolutely mouthwatering.

My mind scrambled to form a coherent thought as I huffed his scent in like a drug addict looking for their next fix, and all I could come up with was an emphatic; “Oh.”

“I told you my scent was addicting, my ang—” With the introduction of Luc’s scent, all of my previous shyness and worry melted from my mind and I lunged forward and buried my nose against the column of his neck. I could feel the corded tendons working underneath my nose as I inhaled his ancient scent deeply, squeezing my thighs tightly together to try and create some friction on my aching pussy.

Gentle fingers pried my face away from his neck and I looked dazedly into his green eyes. “Have you been with a man before?” He asked, his expression serious.

I shook my head. “Never.”

Luc’s grin was full of pointy teeth and I idly wondered what those teeth would feel like against the soft skin of my thighs. He was clearly happy about the fact that I was untouched because his lips finally crashed down onto mine in a suffocating kiss. I had been kissed before, but those had been nothing like this. Luc’s lips were soft, tempered by the presence of his sharp teeth as he pulled my lower lip into his mouth and sucked lightly. With a moan against his mouth I twisted my fingers around the lapels of his suit jacket and fixated on the stinging pleasure-pain sensation that his mouth brought.

I needed more. More of his mouth, and definitely more of his hands which were resting chastely against the small of my back.

Unfortunately for me, Lucifer had all the time in the world and then some, probably, because he pulled away from the toe-curling kiss much too soon for my liking. “I do believe, Eden, that I am going to ruin you for any human man that you may encounter after me.”

I didn’t answer him, instead I pulled him in for another searing kiss, wanting to taste more of him. My mind was a hot haze of lust and the object of my desire was the horned man in front of me.

Luc chuckled against my mouth. “Before we get down to business, I think a change of venue is in order.”

He lifted a hand and snapped his fingers together and the sound was much louder than it should have been as the half-decorated room melted around us. We were no longer sitting on a leather sofa in a dilapidated house, instead we floated together in a black space.

“Where are we?” I asked, momentarily distracted from the blistering desire by my curiosity.

“A liminal space. Think of it like a blank slate for our time together, we are going to use it to work through your desires one by one, my angel.” Luc was floating in front of me. His suit blurred before disappearing, being replaced by a swathes of silk that drifted around his muscular body. A glance down told me that the same had happened to my own outfit, but instead of black, my body swam in white silk.

I reached for Luc again but he hovered just out of reach. “No my angel, before we begin you must do something for me.”

“What?” I nearly growled, my heat riding me hard to wrap my legs around his thick torso and fill my aching pussy before I absolutely lost my mind.

Luc placed his hands on either side of my face and I felt the tingle of magic in his fingertips as he spoke again. “I want you to make us a nest.”

Knot Today Satan - img_2

“I want you to make us a nest.”

A nest? I glanced around at the inky blackness surrounding us. How was I supposed to make a nest when there were no supplies around us? “Make a nest out of what?”
