Христиане, со своей стороны, не могут не чтить древний храм, где проповедовал Иисус Христос и откуда Он изгнал торгующих. Католическая церковь предложила сделать Иерусалим интернациональным городом. Многие поддержали это предложение, но оно не решает проблему. Ведь спор идет не за сам город, а всего за несколько акров священной земли на горе Мориа. Смогут ли приверженцы трех великих религий, трех великих путей, ведущих к Богу, ужиться в мире на этом крошечном клочке земли? Именно в этом месте ярче, чем где бы то ни было, проявилась бы общемировая ценность масонского подхода к религиозным вопросам, подхода, подразумевающего, что всякий человек, верующий в Высшую Сущность, достоин уважения своих собратьев и обязан оказывать уважение им вне зависимости от избранного ими вероисповедания.

Для масонов это был бы поистине чудесный способ достроить наконец незавершенный храм Соломона и, описав полный круг, вернуться к изначальной цели их предшественников-тамплиеров, которые взялись обеспечить всем паломникам безопасный доступ к иерусалимской святыне.
