Assyria desperately seeks both truth and freedom. And Rokath, the fierce warlord, cracks his carefully crafted facade and confronts long-buried truths that have haunted him.

Along the way, the Deathcaller Duet became more than an exploration of belief. It evolved into an excavation of identity, legacy, rage, and reclamation.

In its soul, it’s a story of two people who fought their way toward a future they weren’t supposed to have but claimed it anyway.

Assyria and Rokath are warriors, yes, but not only on battlefields. They clawed their way out of trauma—hers born of systemic oppression, his from violent bloodlines—and still, they found a way to love. To let that love hunt vengeance. To let it become healing.

Rokath chose to make space for Assyria’s rise. Assyria chose to trust that Rokath wouldn’t turn away when she grew thorned and wild. They chose each other, over and over. Even when it hurt.

Through them, I found new pieces of myself.

Assyria taught me that rage can be righteous. That grief is love's echo. That softness is not surrender. That it’s okay to let someone hold you when you're breaking.

Rokath reminded me that devotion can be fierce and undying, and that when someone offers to protect you—not to control, not to cage, but protect—you can let them.

This story is for anyone who has ever been trapped against their will, choked on silence, or told they were too much. It’s for those who bled to break free.

I hope one day you find someone whose love is raw, sacred, and unquestionable.

The war isn’t over. But I promise you this: Rokath and Assyria find peace. Their story continues, and you’ll see them again woven into the threads of future stories in An Age of War and Prophecy.

Until then, be the devious eyes who see through the lies. Let them call you wicked for it.
