As Christmas approaches, ten-year old Connie Murphy begs her parents for a horse. When Christmas morning arrives, she gets the horse of her dreams! Although she is excited, she finds herself afraid of him and struggles to overcome her fear as she learns to ride and care for him. She decides to name him Sox because he has four white bands of hair above each foot. It looks like he is wearing socks. She spells his name Sox instead of socks reasoning that it looks more like a name. With the love and support of her family and friends, and her prayers to God, Connie learns to conquer her fear. She learns never to give up and develops the confidence to show Sox who really is the boss. This is a heartwarming story of faith and courage that will inspire children to never give up and to face their fears.
