Written for classroom teachers and those in training, this book has been designed to support and extend teachers' and students' own knowledge and understanding of science, and should be of particular use to non-specialists. Throughout the book every effort has been made to interpret the ideas and concepts of science in user-friendly language, using everyday activities as illustrations. The book is divided into three sections: life and living processesmaterials and their propertiesphysical processes. Key ideas are suggested for each section and then expanded to include important related science concepts. The book provides comprehensive knowledge for science at Key Stages 1 and 2, and sets the scene for teaching and learning at Key Stage 3.
