Revolutionary Minded is a collection of heartfelt poetry, essays and short stories strung together by author Nati Holmes. Some of the poetry includes his personal recollection while dealing with struggles such as DEATH (holding his childhood friend in his arms while he died. Witnessing his eldest sister escaping death. And he himself experiencing death from his own encounter) the PRISON SYSTEM (being incarcerated in the Department of Corrections for five years where he witnessed countless stabbings and rape offenses) and RACISM (countless run-ins with white supremacist in the justice and penal systems). The stories and poems offer an insight to the thinking of a Young Black Man Lost in America as well as how some experiences shape and mold most minorities growing up in the inner cities of America. Some of the poems break down the gap between younger generation African American males and their elder generation. Other pieces such as Kimela Ezechukwu's Black Girl Lost offer insight as to some of the reason's why most African American teenage females are stuck being single parents. Other select pieces from authors such as Maxwell Penn and Jeffery A. Sanders Sr speak upon love and lost love. While contributors Tamika Newhouse and Shianne Monique touch on some insecurities females face when judged prematurely.
