This is an account of a Jewish scribe who meets Miriam shortly after the birth of Yeshua. Thirty years later as an established teacher in the temple, he encounters Yeshua preaching in the Temple and Samuel is caught between his youthful experience and his fears for his high position and for Israel's future. The ministry of Yeshua is as a sword piercing to Samuel's bowels and he remembers Simeon's warning from years ago. To Samuel's horror his wife and children believe and begin to follow after Yeshua. He must make a decision and he is carried along by his peers as they seek a solution to the problem of this Messiah. And still that sword, the Scriptures, the Word of God is as a sword piercing his soul.
