40 was a dangerous age to meet a bewitching 19 year old Javanese girl on the beach at Bali. Jack Webb was 40 years old; a successful newspaper columnist with a lovely wife eight years younger and two healthy teenage kids. He thought he had everything he wanted. Then Mamik cast her spell over him and his entire existence was turned inside out. Mid life crisis and a tantalising teenager are less than happy bedfellows in a story of sexual sorcery, love, deceit and betrayal. While this story is inspired by a few real facts, incidents and events, all the characters in it apart from some of the beach people are fictitious, including the narrator. They exist entirely in the author's imagination and none bear any resemblance whatsoever to any real people, either alive or dead or both.
