At age forty, Esther Young had a comfortable routine, despite her sister's never-ending attempts at match-making. But when Tom Pearson stepped into her office, Esther's life suddenly changed. With their relationship moving along so quickly - and so well - Esther begins to entertain dreams of marriage and motherhood. But, all too soon, she realizes that her hopes don't match the plans Tom has for their future.
