Delight is a melodrama spun into a comedy, an ironic treatment of romantic themes. The small Ontario town of Brancepeth is turned upside-down when an excessively attractive young woman, Delight, arrives out of nowhere with only her luggage and her grandmother's tea-set. All the men pursue her with ardour; all the women perceive her with jealousy. Stuck between the affections of her admirers, her own reluctance to select a suitable suitor, and the increasing ire of the townswomen, Delight runs a fine line between courtship and exile in this funny and light-hearted tale.
