Many centuries ago, this terrestrial planet was a much different place. Those who inhabit the Skies were at war with an enemy who, at one time, called himself a friend. But all that has now changed. The spirit, Severn, once known to reside within the barren Moons has been relieved of his astral duties. Bitter thoughts of his lifeless soil birthed conflict between him and the fertile pioneer that is Earth. Severn has become an enemy of Bareia, the Earth Mother. And the secret to her fertility will no longer be known to him. Cloaked in disguise, he has hidden himself away on the Isle of Wrath. Each spell, he is ever-watchful of the fertile planet, learning, discovering, witnessing the symbiotic affairs of the territorial creatures and the elements. New life disgusts him, makes his suffering, his rage, even more unbearable. His plan? Infiltrate the army of terrijeuns the Everwinds created to inhabit this celesphere, and stop reproduction of any kind...be it spiritual, natural, or of the mind. Meanwhile, Severn has created a false world inhabited by Mystical creatures, and roams the Earth in search of trophies to join him in his dark world. But the Mystics are just one of the tools he will use to carry out his plan. Severn desires to find other, more devoted, guardians of the "fertile pioneer" to do his bidding. And he will start with the terrijeuns who reside here. Some are only vaguely aware of their power while others, due to his overshadowing presence, live in complete unconsciousness. Then there are others that are ever-curious, and seek to grow stronger with understanding, which is why he will stop at nothing to remove Crisdean from the world's realm. This youngling, he has discovered, possesses an unearthly discernment of both the spiritual and the elemental. Severn must be strategic, and very patient...or the attack will fail. Troubled by the memory of his mother's unexpected passing four summers ago, Crsdean feels there is something his father, the whole town, in factisn't telling him. No one has spoken to him about the Lands of Ice, or why his heart yearns for a distant place he has never seen, aside from his visions. No one has spoken to him about his mother, and what really happened the night the roof caved in. He refuses to accept the notion that he might have had something to do with it, but with the "unspoken" constantly hovering about, he can think of nothing else. The folk in his village, his father, and his impending Destiny all but force him to move forward, to focus on the steps in front of him. Crsdean, however, cannot for he is lost. The joy and energy he had for Life has eluded him. With night no longer being his haven, his place to dream, he is haunted by daily visions and nightly terrors too uncomfortable to speak of out loud. With his keen inner sight, Crsdean sees things most people tend to overlook, it is but one of his gifts. Lately, he does not know what to make of the things being revealed to him. His mother had spoken to him candidly about his ability to "see," about his Life, and his future, she made clear those things that confused him. She was a woman of piercing inner sight, as well, but her wisdom is no longer there to guide him. Crsdean is struggling to trust his senses at a very critical time in his life. Whenever the visions come, he immediately pushes them to the darkest corners of his mind. He knows the Universe wants him to see something, but they are "somethings" he is not willing to see just now. He feels inadequate. His moods are getting worse, his patience is wearing thin, and his love of life is waning. It disturbs him when he thinks of how content he would be if he were invisible, a simple wight that people pass unawares. But this mission must be faced by him, and no one else. He has to believe in himself. Can he break away from despair and regain his strength in time? Or will he allow Severn to manipulate him into destroying his own people, and himself in the process?
