Even where there is war, love blossoms and can sometimes win over tragedy. A vicious war shatters five million years of peace. The village is pillaged and destroyed. Husband and wife Bombit and Mombit become separated when rebels raid their house. Their home is ransacked and they are unable to protect their property from looters. Despite their separation, the war cannot damage their undying love. The war makes them homeless, powerless and penniless. They try to look for one another but find the war has displaced many souls. Mombit's fate is sealed by the hands of the rebels and Bombit's quest for her is hampered by many false leads. He undergoes many trials and punishments, but finds that no one can help him find Mombit. Everyone else is only interested in saving their own skins. The war might destroy lives and peace and their marriage. But it cannot destroy Bombit and Mombit's love.
