Kentucky born Johnny Depp became a teen idol through his role on "21 Jump Street" on Fox Television (1987-90), and has since become a respected adult actor. Numerous of his films have been in collaboration with the director Tim Burton, including the most recent, "Dark Shadows" (2012). He has been nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for performances in three movies: "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" (2003), "Finding Neverland" (2004) and "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" (2007).
