Cyd Lorillard, a court clerk, is disenchanted with her job and is considering plans to change her life. An attorney, one of the court regulars, invites her to lunch for the express purpose of introducing her to his friend, Dan. Dan is a trucker and he ends up taking Cyd for the ride of her life.
