She finds an instant friend in Abba, and sparks fly the moment she is introduced to Boone, the Sheriff's son. Drew finally begins to believe in new beginnings and happy endings until things quickly take a horrific turn. People end up dead in unexplainable ways, dangerous and oddly deformed animals are discovered, crazy weather and natural disasters become daily events, and evil in a beastly form lurks in the dark forest surrounding the island...watching and waiting.
