Sybil T. Chapman comes from a long line of painters and artists, stretching back many generations, and art in its many forms has been important to her throughout her life. In Thoughts Along the Way she expresses her feelings in music and verse, accompanied by examples of her decorative woven wall hangings. Now retired, Sybil was a teacher of gymnastics, athletics, English and dance, and she has always been particularly inspired by Hungarian dance and culture. She spent many months in Hungary and was even asked by the then Hungarian Minister for Culture to stay permanently in that country. Sybil now spends much of her time working at her looms, producing a range of cloths, rugs, carpets, fine table linen and wall hangings for family and friends, happily accompanied by music and her two rescued cats, Bartie and Copper.
