It is 1949 Appleby, Westmorland, where two cultures collide: that of a local squire Tobias Flint and Daisy Latimer resident traveller girl. Trouble arises when the handsome gypsy, Roulson Adams, who after being rejected by the beautiful, unsophisticated Daisy, takes a terrible revenge.
