This is an individual chapter of Theory of Constraints Handbook. Chapter Purpose: To provide an understanding of various applications of the Strategy and Tactics tree (S&T tree) in organizations. This chapter begins with an introduction related to the definitions of strategy and tactics for an organization and the need for different levels. Next, a brief historical analysis of key strategic approaches in the literature is discussed. The top (level 1) step of the Viable Vision (VV) S&T trees is presented and discussed in detail, including the first part of the second level of one tree. This approach to strategy and tactics is then compared to those in the literature. Finally, various applications of the VV S&T trees are presented and discussed.
